Saturday, my bro and I left colden dam at 8:30 am and headed over to the trap dyke. Interesting to see the avalanche debris from this past winter. Topped out on colden atop the slide with no troubles at 10:20am. The dyke/slide ascent is a little gem of the daks. It was our first time up.

Descended to lake arnold, then to feldsbar leanto before heading up to gray.

We traversed between Gray and Marcy on the virtually non-existant herd path which was an interesting bushwhack needless to say. Tagged marcy's summit then it was back down to four corners and opalescent brook before returning to camp at 6pm.

Beautiful weather with pressure dropping lightly and clouds arriving later in the afternoon. Showers on saturday night.

Overall it was a great day in the daks.

You make a 9.5 hour hike - including a trip up a slide, over three 4,000'ers, and a bushwhack - sound easy. Nice job!

It IS easy =) you just have to eat a lot... and who doesn't like eating?

We did run out of water at one point and had to wait 20 minutes after we filled up before we could drink...
