On the day of this hike, it was a sunny, warm & wonderful autumn day which was perfect for any outdoor activity. But, due to other commitments, AVK4316 and I each could only spare a few hours to enjoy the magnificent November day. So, we agreed to do a mini-hike from Tripoli Road (loop hike to Little East Pond & East Pond). It was a “good fit” for our time frame, and since neither of us had ever done this loop, it was something new.

We hiked the loop in a clockwise fashion. This meant that Little East Pond was our first stop, and we then proceeded on to East Pond. We agreed that East Pond was the more scenic of the two ponds. Both snapshots below are from East Pond.

And, as stated at the beginning of this report, it was a warm & sunny autumn day. The sandy beach was very enticing (sort of like a Caribbean beach . . . uh, well sort of!):D

But, it was so inviting that someone was caught sunbathing! Ah! November in the Whites!

Bottom Line to All This: This is a very enjoyable, short & easy hike, and one that’s especially nice to do when you have a limited amount of time to hike. However, it won’t be long before Tripoli Road will be gated for the winter. And so, this hike will not be as short when it becomes necessary to use the Kanc trailhead.

It doesn't sound like you encountered a mess of blowdown on the link between the ponds as I have read about in the past. That sounds promising.
