    Glacier National Park

A fairly quick hike near the park entrance if you're short on time one day is Apgar Lookout, great views of Lake MacDonald and the mountains behind. Alligator Eggs on Wittenberg!

It's a code phrase you can say while hiking to strangers to indicate that you are from VFTT. If they are from VFTT they will recognize the phrase. It was either this or purple shoe laces? Something like that, but the majority settled on Alligator Eggs.

Pack bag - covered by warranty or not?

I wouldn't feel comfortable turning in a 20-25 year old piece of gear for a warranty repair.

Tripod - light enough to pack

Thanks to the wonders of people moving and leaving stuff on the streets, I found Sunpak 6601 Tripod/Monopod in the original packaging yesterday. It was never opened, still sealed in the packaging. So I'm better than good.

    Forest reclaiming tundra on Moosilauke?

The foundations below the summit are the old summit cabin/shelter, removed in 1980. It was built after the summit house burned in 1942 and used as a Dartmouth College cabin and an emergency shelter. By the end it was divided into two sections, the emergency shelter in the front which was open to...
