    The status of blazing?

In August 2022 I saw people in principle blazing either the Kilkenny Ridge Trail or the Unknown Pond Trail near Unknown Pond. They were actually talking to another hiker. So another datapoint saying that blazing does happen in the whites.

    The status of blazing?

Actually the main rain forest "trails" in Puerto Rico (I forget the name of the park) are paved. I asked a ranger there and he said that there was enough foot traffic that paving was the only way it could maintained properly. I have spent most of the last 2 summers hiking the Maine 4000 foot...

    The status of blazing?

Monadnock has a lot of blazes and route information painted on rocks, although the junction markings on the White Dot and the Red Spot for Smith Connecting trail extension have had obliteration attempts. But that is not WMNF, and some say is the 2nd most climbed mountain in the world, so...

    "Traditional" Route To Skylight

In the late 1960s or early 1970s I was taught that it was correct to build up cairns that appeared to need it. I believe that was what the people in the Highlands of Scotland, which I believe is the source of the word cairn, did to maintain their walking pathways. With the number of people and...
