    Hillmans Highway damaged?

Check out the Moat Mt. Brewing or Wildcat Mt. Facebook pages for some pictures of what appears to be a huge new slide on Hillmans. Wonder if anyone has been up close to check it out? http://www.facebook.com/#!/photo.php?fbid=10150351232147359&set=a.10150253169727359.374192.7959777358&type=1&theater

Maine - Abraham via the Fire Warden's Trail

FYI, I was up there last weekend. The road is passable to both first and second trail heads with a standard passenger car. The bridges over Rapid Stream are a little tricky as one has dropped some on the far end but is still very safe, just need to approach it at an angle due to the bump. Good...

    Carrauntoohil Ireland (1,038 metres)

During a recent trip to Ireland one goal was to climb Carrauntoohil, the highest mountain in Ireland at just over 3400'. The entire climb is exposed and starts with a nice walk through sheep pastures surrounded by jagged, rocky peaks. There are a couple beautiful ponds near the base fed by...

    Wolf via Kinsman Ridge/AT (from NH112) 5/29

This trail is all uphill in both directions! Just thought I'd post this as there are multiple blow downs between 112 and the shelter. Some require significant time to work around. Also getting grown-in in sections as well. Plan extra time. Black flies are unreal, bring DEET.

    Fall Gathering?

I vote for 9/26-9/28. I can probably make anywhere that weekend, Maine...NH...VT.... I originally planned to help organize this event; unfortunately an unpredictable work schedule among other things prevented that.

7/17 Carr via 3-Ponds - Carr Mt Trail

Got an early start for this after a great night at Hancock. I think the swimming hole there is my all time favorite. This is one of those peaks that is easy to under estimate at just over 3500'. Roughly 3.5 miles total, but 3 of it is steady up with short steeps here and there. All and all this...

7/16 Stairs via Rocky Branch - Stairs Col

Yogi and I took a couple days off to bag a couple NHH(&8)H peaks. Rocky Branch trail from Jericho Rd. is a pleasant 2-mile walk along the river. Reminds me of Wilderness trial without the ties to trip over. Stairs Col Tr. is easy for a mile or so, then pretty relentless the last mile up to...

Bearly Live Activities _hikes, boats, bikes and etc

Meant Baldpates from Frye Bk.....sorry. I type in MS Word and cut/paste here so I can spell check. Missed that little "correction" :(

Bearly Live Activities _hikes, boats, bikes and etc

I'm 75% sure I'll be there and if I am, I'll be doing Baldpate from Frye Brook. I'll have a leashed dog (little guy) with me so if that's not a problem maybe we can get a group together. Oh PS: Must stop for fresh 420 IPA on the way back :p

Bearly Live Activities _hikes, boats, bikes and etc

And if your feeling extra ambitious, climb the wrong peak first, then wack over through one of the worst blowdown patches in the universe to the correct NEHH peak. Good times!

    Summer Gathering

Is there one this year? Did I just miss the post? Last year was the first for me and I had a great time. I'd love to stay at the same place in Gorham, the sites in the way back were perfect for the group fire/food/party.

    Kancamagus 7/4

Ok, so I'm mostly a lurker on this site. But this trip deserves a report I believe. I read somewhere on here that this was "an easy" wack, or a good "beginners wack". Well, I perhaps am the unluckiest wacker then. After failing to get to the summit last fall solo due to threatening skies, I...

    Camels Hump

Yogi and I were on Camels Hump Sunday the 25th??? Were you all there on Sunday or Monday? It was an awesome day, cool and windy enough for most of the hike to keep the bugs away. We went up Munroe (used to be Forestry Trail no?) then up Dean and over the ridge. Then down past the plane wreck...

    Martha-Cherry (Owls Head) 11/27

Taking the yog-ster for quick hike up these peaks next Tuesday. It'd be nice to spot a car and do the loop back to the 115. I hate backtracking almost as much as I hate pounding pavement. Won't be an early start as I'm driving from Kennebunk and may still be recovering from a late night Foxboro...

    Mauna Kea - Hawaii highpoint

Awesome Darren! I was there in October last year, staying up in Kawaihae at my aunts house when the earthquake hit, virtually destroying the house and cutting our vacation short a week. Mauna Kea was on my list that week so we never made it. Thanks for posting the pictures. Hope to get back and...

    Fishin Jimmy Trail

When I hiked it a few years ago, not only was I walking up a running creek bed, but I had hard time following the trail in several places causing some back tracking. Hopefully it has been re-blazed since then.

Fall Gathering 9.9999999 - Sep 21-23 White Birches

Just wanted to thank peakbagger for pulling this all together. It was a great time, and awesome to finally meet everyone that I had the chance to. You could not have asked for better weather, or a better spot. Great job!
