That snowfield a couple of weeks ago didn't have that nice deep rut- we crossed it in thunder and lightening. One year Sapblatt and I saw a guy shoeveling a path in it for safety. But the real point of my post was to say I liked the title of your post, Castle's Stormed .... :cool:

Not to pick on what you are saying, but I laugh when I hike the Great Gulf Trail- when you get to the Wilderness Boundary sign, I think you can still hear the trucks on Rt 16 going by. That'll ruin your wilderness experience....

Hey Rob, thanks for the pix. When I was there, I recall a bunch of Army 'copters flying up and down the river. Was a very cool sight. This is a real nice hike.. Good to see you are getting out. Edit- Agree with una dogger, Underhill is a nice approach....
