Brings back memories. I did them in Oct, 01. Drove down from VT and did one that afternoon and the other the following morning. Drove home. Nice hikes, but nothing heroic.

I for one really have to strain to pretend there's an Owl in there somewhere. All I know is that when I'm at Black Pond and look north I know that some refer to that cliff area as Owls Head.

I hiked Telescope Peak a few times, and to Trail Camp on Whitney several times with my Newf. He was an experienced hiker and eventually got to the point where he let me know his limits.
