Thanks Jay and Darl. Jay we mamaged to stay in the COL between the two bumps and there was not much for views. We were in white out conditions all day. We lost the herdpath numerous times and at one point found ourselves to high to the left of the brook but managed to stay out of blowdown...

Just wanted to let everyone know that Marshall is broken out if you want to give it a shot. There is a trip report up if you want to read it before it gets buried in the NE stuff :D

I hked Marshall from UW on Tuesday and his picture was at every trail juntion we encountered. Still very sad.

Try Big Crow in Keene. It is less than a half mile to the top with awesome views of Hurricane, The Great Range, and Giant Mountain. :)

I have the bear can I think you have. The Garcia, all black, coin operated lid? I have had one since they were mandatory in the high use areas and I have never had a bear touch it. You should be fine :)

At least the guy still seems to be in good spirits :D I am not familiar with the area that this happened. It must be a pretty wooded area to have bears present I would guess. Thanks for sharing Marty!
