Aye, that was me/us. Was wondering if you were a member here. Nice to cross paths, sounds like you enjoyed it like we did. The wind was impressive and had alot of the trees swaying on top but we lucked out with no rain. :)

Well just a quick update, we were commited to our trip but went with an alternate set of mountains. We did Hale and Waumbek on Sat and Cannon on Sun and for as nasty as the radar looked we really lucked out. We had some pretty strong wind gusts on Saturday, guessing in the 40's which happened...

Myself and a group of friends are heading east to NH for the weekend. We were planning on doing the Bonds, Zealand, Twins, Goyot ridge but with all the rain and possibility of a T-storm gonna switch to to something else. Leaning towards Cannon, Cabot, Hale, or Iso combination. No river...

haha, np. So more along the lines of my second statement :P

Ok, looking for an update or further feedback reguarding Fivefingers and hiking. If I were to buy a pair I would be interested in using them for jogging/light trailrunning and normal trail hiking. I have noticed several newer models also...looking to buy a lighter hiking shoe for this summer...

When I finished my 46, I believe I got a room for the night in the Lake Placid Summit Hotel. It is just off main street and has a pool (although I didn't use) and was quite affordable and nice rooms. From what I can remember of it, nice place for the price.

I didn't, but most of the group did. I had acquired some painful blisters from a hike on Wednesday and my tape job of protecting them had failed miserably, so I was just interested in getting back down. That pic did turn out pretty nice, there were many opportunities to snap photos. :)

I have a pair of scarpas that I enjoy, but each make and style fits every persons feet differently so go with what fits you the best. That said, Backpacker's gear guide '12 is out now so I would say check out their boot reviews!
