    Engine Hill BW in Summer

Engine Hill Bushwack Last July I did the Engine Hill Wack with Old Man. Ed had the Winter Route saved on his gps. I'm guessing we were around 3K. It was very pretty going thru the glades, but the ferns were chest high. It made for slow going. Foot placement was a bit of a problem as you...

    Mt Cabot

Did the hike from the York Pond Trailhead. 2-3 inches of powder on top of hard pack down low. Maybe 4 inches on the ridge. Saw about 20 hikers today. Most seemed to come up the officially closed Mt Cabot Trailhead. All were in shoes. One very confused hiker even had a Giants hat on. We started...

Took the usual Mt. Tecumseh, Sosman route. First crossing is open but very easy. 2 stepovers that do not get in the way just before the gully at the second crossing. The second and larger crossing is well bridged. The ramp has some drifted powder. After the Sosman junction there is more...

    knee pain

Thanks everyone for all the input. It is frankly a bit overwelming. I think what I have taken from all this is to slow the process down a bit and do some more research. Not working in the medical profession makes it a bit tough to pick the right direction. Who knows, if surgery is the way to go...

    knee pain

I saw an Orthopedic today at the Lahey Clinic. He showed me the MRI and said it was a fairly sizable tear. He wants to trim it. The proceedure sounds like the menisectomy mentioned earlier. He also mentioned he couldn't guarentee all the pain would go away after the surgery. That took me back a bit.
