    Madison, Adams, Jefferson, 6/22/10

I've been trying to hike the Presidential range for the last two weekends, however the weather wasn't quite right. Tuesday looked good. Weekday hiking on the Presis with a good forecast sounds like a Silver Fox type of day. Mark and Karen, Cymbidium, met me at Marshfield for a car spot. We...

A Route Less-Traveled in the Presidential Range (15-Jun-2010)

Always a pleasure to read your posts and view your pictures. You seem to have a knack for finding those out of the way gems. Keep them coming as it makes the workweek easier to take.

    Franconia Ridge, 5/28/10

James has been wanting to get up on the ridge for some time. We climbed Liberty in January, but were fogged in with no views. We knew we would be fighting crowds this weekend and the weather was supposed to good on Friday, so I asked James if he could take some time out of work. He told me that...

    Mt. Flume 5/22/10

Fisher cat, We didn't look very hard for the old trail. On another trip maybe. Whale back looks like it might be interesting. As far as the blowdowns go, They are mostly birch trees, some quite large. Several smaller spruces had already been taken out. We loved this trail, and Flume is one of...

    Mt. Flume 5/22/10

Liz and I have been trying to limit our hikes to some where around 10 miles. We want to be sure not to over tax her surgically repaired back. Mt Flume from the Osseo Trail seemed a good fit. After leaving the Lincoln Woods Trail, the Osseo follows it's name-sake brook thru some nice hardwood...

    Bob's Hill Traverse 5/15/10

Real nice report. Looks like a few laps on those stairs would help get ready for the Whites. Too bad for the snake.

    Sandwich Mountain 5/16/10

Thanks all. This was a very enjoyable hike. The trails on this side of the mountain do not get as much traffic and are not at all eroded. Very soft on your feet and knees. It is also very dog friendly. Lots of shade and water. There must have been alot of logging in this area years ago as there...

    Sandwich Mountain 5/16/10

Liz and I were eager to get in a hike. We also wanted to take my son's Lab, Dooley. Hiking with Dooley can most times be an adventure. We thought long about which mountain and trail and came up with Sandwich using the loop of Bennett st and Gleason trails. We picked this side for a couple of...

Water crossing on Liberty Springs Trail

Barring an unusual rain event, that crossing should be rock hoppable.
