    Yellowstone lodging recommendations

We end up sleeping in the car one night, because everything in and near Yellowstone had no vacancy, so yes, make reservations ! Jackson Hole has nothing good below 125$/night in high season. Don't miss : the back roads of Yellowstone, all of them. We saw grizzly bears, discover amazing secret...

    Big Jay via Jay (242)-4/2/10

There was snow all the way up in the morning, but it was melting pretty fast later. Still 4-5 feet deep on the ridge though, solid enough to hold my weight. Snowshoes all the way, sunglasses and sunscreen. Perfect moment to do that peak, I got very good views near the summit of Big Jay. 3,5h RT.

    Would you climb Mt Everest?

In my opinion, it would be much more interesting to ask this here : Would you work your ass off for years, use all your savings and sacrifice everything to climb Everest ? And, if you didn't succeed, do it all over again ?

I tried the boyfriend's G12 on my LaSportiva 38 and it didn't work because the bar is too long. Maybe I can buy a shorter bar ? I found this on their (bad) website : Long Bar - Art. RB097.14 A new regulation long bar (190 mm) that makes changing from one size to a smaller one easy, by...

Fatality from falling in spruce traps

But before hypothermia there's a lot of stages : 1) laugh 2) curse 3) scream 4) more cursing 5) cry (once, on Calamity-true story) 6) back to normal breathing 7) get out of it.

    VFTT winter gathering 2010?

Hi Audrey ! We passed by the Crescents Trailhead few days ago, and it wasn't broke in. Everybody seems to wait for someone else to go before them !

Fatality from falling in spruce traps

...And I don't see how someone could fall head first when hiking. It is such a slow going when the snow is deep.
