4-11-09 Jefferson via Tuckerman's Ravine for my NH48 finish

Smiling Hiker...cute. I have one picture of me hiking when I did not have a smile. The final 50 feet of Mt Olympus was a pinacle with a big moat. My friend said we could climb it without a rope but after I looked into the moat, I wasn't having any part of that...

    Your boats?

I have a Wilderness Systems Tsunami 125 and my brother and his family all have the Tsunami 120. We mainly do winding rivers - not whitewater - and have found that the 120 is a lot more responsive. It is difficult at times to maneuver the 125 in tight corners or under blowdown. The upside of...

4-11-09 Jefferson via Tuckerman's Ravine for my NH48 finish

I am gradually working on the winter list - 9 months before we can continue on that one. I only have 11 left of the 115 so I'm only a few weekends away from being done with the all season lists that I want to work on.

Definitely check out 7summits pictures if you want to see the area around Adams/Madison. My camera didn't come out much after Jefferson. Hopefully you end up with good conditions like we did!!!

4-11-09 Jefferson via Tuckerman's Ravine for my NH48 finish

Thanks everyone for all the well wishes. It was a really fun route...definitely not a direct route to Jefferson but that's what made it interesting as did my partners in crime ;) Let's see...no, I don't recall seeing any farm animals - I don't even remember seeing a dog all day. Wish we had...

4-11-09 Jefferson via Tuckerman's Ravine for my NH48 finish

Let me just start by saying…I’m sorry for not sending out a last minute e-mail about my finish but this was really a sneak attack on Jefferson. So…here’s how the plan started. 7summits (HuiYeng) and I wanted to climb something that didn’t require being roped up (since I have YET to acquire...
