12-25-2009 A Christmas to Remember on Wright, Algonquin and Iroquois

Following is a link to the pictures. The undercast isn't as prominent as I remember but can still be seen in the pictures of Whiteface. http://adventurous-.smugmug.com/Hiking/New-York/Wright-Algonquin/10785256_ZuA5k#751829355_beSRi Jay - Yes, this was definitely a stark contrast to hiking it...

12-25-2009 A Christmas to Remember on Wright, Algonquin and Iroquois

Until Wednesday night, HuiYeng and I were undecided on our Christmas plans. We checked the weather and chose Lake Placid since Christmas day looked like a great day for a hike. Our plan was to hike Wright, Algonquin and Iroquois weather permitting. We woke up Christmas morning to find that it...

    Moosilauke Adventure with Adventurous 11-21-09

It was great hiking with you again Dave!!! If we hadn't taken our time up Beaver Brook, we wouldn't have been treated to blue skies on Moose. Besides, Beaver Brook trail is so beautiful, you can't help but admire the cascades all the way up to the shelter. I can't wait to hike this trail...

Garfield, Nov. 7, 2009 -- arm saves the day

What a difference a day will make. You captured a picture of Franconia Ridge blanketed with snow on Saturday. We hiked it on Sunday and there was no snow at all - just a few icy sections. We found it very strange because it looked like it was covered in snow Saturday afternoon on our drive...

Sure...let me know when you want to hit the NH peaks and what you'd be up for. Does this mean that you're working on the NE115 list? A presi traverse is on my list of things to do - would you be up for one? FYI - I haven't done one yet either - I've managed to miss all the presi traverses...

    Flags on the 48- Isolation

Great account of the hike Darl!!! It was great participating in FOT48 again this year. This was the second time I had participated and both times were on Isolation. The hike up Dry River Trail was quite pleasant although our feet were fatigued from the hike in Acadia the previous week...

Thanks Tim!!! It was a great hike but my knees and feet (fatigued) are still paying the price. If I were to do it again, I would probably only do half of what we did because it's tough on the body.

I forgot about that...4 out of 6 would have eaten the pork. Wonder how many others would say yes to eating pork off the grill after it had been left out all night. I think we're in the minority Darl...
