    misspelled summit sign! - MacNaughton

I think the person who put it up was Canadian. I read on the internet they can be clueless?

    ADK Grid?

That is the reason I wrote there is 9 now. Because Sharpy has done 'everything under the sun' I had assumed he did at the time. My lengthy opening about 20+ rounds was written out of respect for what him and others like Phil Correll have done over the years. But with him not officially doing...

Congrats there youngster! I'm happy to hear you had such a fine day to finish on such a grand peak after a long, cold and snowy winter!:)

    ADK Grid?

I'm kind of confused at the discussion, I thought these parts stated it right off the bat. It was a simple question of "are there any" so I didn't want to ramble on even more than I did. I didn't see the need to say Alain has done a hundred rounds because it wasn't part of the question and I...

    ADK Grid?

There is currently 9 that have put it out there that they have finished. The 9th just finished on Jan 4th. I know quite a few have said they were working on it many more than half way. A few are very close and should finish this year, two of which are women, there is currently only one woman...

Local hiker completes Presi traverse in 12 straight months

Someone better tackle her before she tries for 25! Doesn't she know how dangerous it is and she is a woman?! Look at the picture, she is even forcing some young girl with pigtails to not run out in front of her! Tisk tisk. Keep running Pam, and don't let'em catch you!

    New Record for a Rabbit!!!

Congrats on another fine goal, Alain and Green! It was fun watching your peaks build, I thought maybe the deep soft snow might have stopped you this winter but I should of known better.;)Ye! I wish you luck with your next big completion but I only give you to July 4th! I will take the under on...

What was no problem? This is a thread about Allen, but talking about Avalanche lake are you talking about the swamp out of the loj?

"Before and After"/Then and Now pics ?

If you look at the Seymour sign one you can see the nails from the previous yellow disc spot. The lettering style wise is the same, same person did it too, but the newer one starts at the edge of the disc. I like how the words are worn of the wooden sign.

Ed Hawkins Completes His Fourth Grid on Mt. Madison 2-17-11

I don't think the word "grid" is correct though. It would simply be doing the 48 on the Feb 29ths. "Grid" I thought comes from the layout of making a fill in chart Months on one axis and Peaks on the other. With the "every day of the year" one people should remember the days of the year move...

Snowshoe Run Up Mt. Washington 02/23/11

What cleats did you go with? Did you have in mind it was shift change day at all when you started? The fresh softer sno-cat tracks for the way down had to make that pretty nice for the legs. Times were kicking obviously.

    It's only ~ 12,500 miles...

I'm happy he changed his overall goal to finish one day without saying a year like he was in the past. That was just pure ignorance as proof by his pace over the first 40 days. So he has shown an ability to adapt and learn that most are to stubborn too. Then it becomes fun..always more...

campsite on MacIntyre Range Trail ?

Chip, what's the plan your thinking of that involves camping there? I always think to myself when going by, "why the hell would someone camp there?". I went by it around 2:30am late last winter and some folks were setting up camp, I later learned they were just trying to set up so they could...
