    Northeast’s Fastest Known Times

Here is some "self supported" Catskill 35 info: Jim Senecal and Joe Hevesi did the trip "self"supported back in the late 70's in 4d 14h. Erik Schlimmer did it with only one food cache (making it self-supported) in '08 in an even 6 days. Also being "solo". You can find a write up on his site...

    Northeast’s Fastest Known Times

The supported W46 is Jonathan Esper in ~9.5 days. The W35 is probably better labeled as "anonymous" than Unknown since he is a member of VFTT. Self supported records deserve a category, I think anyway, a lot of amazing ones out there. Lets get the womens FKT in there too! Encourage all those...

Jan Strikes Again! Pemi Loop FKT!

Here is what Jan posted on ADKhighpeaks: Not well! Legs weren't there from the start so I was missing my splits by 1-3 minutes each time. Struggled with cramping from Lafayette on (my mistake, should have taken salt) and nausea from Garfield on (couldn't keep the GU down), probably because I...

    Sounds rather audacious, no?

The same trip organizer did a Presi last Dec. Here is what he wrote about it: “ Yeah, wow. I have a lot to say about this hike but I will keep it very short. a GREAT start to the day, great visibility and NO WIND above tree line. We hit Washington (Peak #5) about 3:30. Sudha and myself...

    Speedy Pemi loop

If your doing a "loop" having the same starting and ending point the elevation gain/loss will be the same totals CW or CCW. When in the hike you encounter your climbs will of course be different. Brew, seeing that your French Canadian and your wording in English might be a little "off". Did...

    Trap Dike Solo?

It has been real dry up there for awhile. To the point where people are posting about how dry it is. I think you'll be fine with just climbing (no gear) but do what makes you feel comfortable.

Anyone seen this at Chimney Pond BSP??

It just looks like a spot where the rock had a cleavage point that was eroded and recently gave way. The shape doesn't look so "odd" when viewed closer up in the zoom.
