    Pitcher Mtn in Stoddard

Mike, Your original post made me realize I haven't been up pitcher in a few months and gave me incentive to bring the kids on a blueberry picking adventure. Take a look! Edit: Picture was taken on Pitcher Mtn - Sunday 7/17

    Pitcher Mtn in Stoddard

Pitcher is (almost) in my backyard and I hike it with my 3 and 4 year old on a regular basis. OUr last trip was June. There are a few ripe blueberries in my backyard but the bushes haven't peaked yet. Give it another 2 weeks and you'll be in prime season.

    Sleeper - which approach?

If you're just going for E Sleeper I'd recommend the attempt from the Whiteface side. There's a steep section that drops off Whiteface but other than that first section the trail is relatively easy. Watch your step. The trail is a moose dumping grounds!

    Adirondack Mountain Guide

I'm a AMC 4000 Hiker in New England looking to expand my radius into the Adirondacks. Are there any guidebooks that cover the region that you can recommend? I've looked at the "Adirondack Trails" series (on-line) which seems to cover specific regions. Is there a guide similar to the AMC...

    Scattered power outages in NH

Does this mean I shouldn't bring my hair dryer and iron to the higher summits this weekend? At least my pack will be so much lighter than usual.

    The Positives of Winter Hiking

There is no better therapy to relieve the stress of my day than the purity of a long deep breath of cold clean winter air and looking up at the deepest blue skies.
