know of any trails with wider tracks?

I know they aren't ideal, but if you wore MSR's and carried the 8 inch tails in your pack and put them on when you wanted to go off trail. I'm sure someone must have mentioned this before me.

know of any trails with wider tracks?

The ski trails at Waterville and Wildcat shouldn't trip you up too bad.. AND they are on WMNF land so hike away brother! FWIW I've descended in my MSR's before in fresh snow and made it out OK! :D

    5 days? Yeah right!

Not to single you out Sierra but this is a good example of why I've chosen not to write anything further on this thread. Let's just say I did some hiking... If the weather hadn't warmed up and the snow turn to mash potatos I would have beaten MY OWN record. 28 peaks in 3.5 days with a possible...

    5 days? Yeah right!

Just got internet back and will write up a recap of the way things went soon. Plus a full description of the massive 3-5 person support crew and trail breaking army I had on the payroll. Thanks again for all the virtual support and kind words.

    5 days? Yeah right!

One has to ask......what the heck does the young Farmer eat during the hike to replenish the 10,000 calories burned? Gu's and bars of sorts or Suzie Q's and Little Debbie snacks? And in the evening, is it PBR's and Spam? I mean 10,000 calories.......that's some serious food intake...

    5 days? Yeah right!

The show is over folks! After experiencing less than ideal conditions ranging from rotten snow at 4000 ft to slush and puddles down low on both the Hancocks and Osceolas today and withe the forecast looking the way it is conditions are just too slow to keep me focused and motivated to continue...

    5 days? Yeah right!

the plan keeps evolving as the conditions change. heading for the stuff on the Kanc that's broken out today. "IF" things freeze up this could end in the mother of all Pemi hikes. Hale,Zealand,Bonds,Twins,Galehead,Garfield,Lafayette,Lincoln,Liberty,Flume,Owls Head. Doesn't sound very fun to me!

    5 days? Yeah right!

The plan for tomorrow is Prezzie traverse Tom, Field, Willey and then come back for a rematch with Moriah! Bedtime....

    5 days? Yeah right!

Had to skip Moriah today. Took three strong hikers 14 hours to break out the Cats Moriah traverse to the Stony brook junction.I caught up to them just after the shelter spur so I decided to skip Moriah which wasn't broken out and hike down with them so we could regroup.

    5 days? Yeah right!

Thanks! Great quote. Actually day 3 and 4 are reversed in the revised plan. No matter when the day is finished I will be resting for a predetermined amount of time and then hit the trail again even if it is 2 or 3 am. That's the plan anyway! ;)
