per mile
cash is king
Thats beacause Jason and I already broke them out
river crossing doable but wet feet are necessary. trail after crossing is running water due to snow melt higher up. Snow and ice staring around 3000' put microspikes on around 3500' left them on all the way to S and back. Most snow on S Twin (about 6 inches) two sets of tracks coming up twinway...
NO extra charge for out and backs where they are mandatory or commonplace. ie: Tom, Field, Willey. or Carrigain but an out and back on Hale, Zealand, Bonds Traverse or Cats, Carters, Moriah is going to cost you.
Just my two cents
One vote here for Injinji peformance weight socks. I struggle with blisters in between the ring and middle toes usually when doing long miles after the foot has been wet for a long time. This has solved my problem. I had always worn mid weight merino wool running socks...
With winter rolling in and the economy the way it is I figured that I should utilize my strongest job skills toward earning a living. Two services are available: Have the trail broken out before you arrive at the trailhead or you can watch;) I have a resume and references.
PM if interested:)
Not to come down too hard on you but this seems like a bit of a novelty to me or are you such a green being that you practice this method in your daily life? I'm just failing to see the point I guess

Reusable, eco-friendly and a huge timesaver. Plus, you can avoid the inevitable above treeline windburn, fine for mooning the cog and other hikers wanting to socialize with you.
I hope you like yours salty
Great suggestions everyone thank you very much. I have not reached a decision yet but I still have some time before the 21st ;)
