    Any Grafton Loopers this weekend?

Camping Any good legal camp spots before the Baldpate Lean-to? We are coming in late Friday and will be looking for something within the 2.2 minus the 1/4 mile boundary within the lean-to. Figured there would be something to settle down on for a quiet night away from the lean to.

ANY chance the shuttles will be running this weekend?

Cool, I figure there will be loads of people. I don't think I will have much trouble getting a ride from someone. Im going to park on Haystack at the North Twin TH early tomorrow am and hike up and come out sometime around lunchtime on Sunday at Hale Brook. Im sure it will all work itself out. I...

    Hancock Camping

I figure if I go up and lollipop back around to Hancock Notch trail and go somewhere in that zone between Cedar and the Trailhead that would be considered ok. I am def trying to make sure all rules are observed.

No longer charging for some trailhead parking.

So if you are a member of the AMC do you not have to pay the day use fee? We just continue to pay it because we don't know the rule on members

    Liberty, Franconia, Old Bridle

Great weekend out. Parked at Lafayette Place and took the Pemi Trail to Liberty Springs. Tented at Liberty Springs and watched the sunset at Liberty. Went over the ridge early on Sunday before the heat set in. Old Bridle was a hot hike. There was very little breeze. Anyway, lots of day hikers...

    Zealand Falls and Zeacliff

Yesterday was a perfect day to hike. Most of the roads going to the trailheads look to be open according to the AMC site. Drove all the way in to Zealand Trailhead. Hike was awesome. Past the hut, the trail did get a bit muddy but nothing major. Water was flowing great. Views from Zeacliffs...

Its still winter in the whites!

Just got back from Welch Dickey and the high summits (Moose, Franconia) still have plenty of snow on the very tops. It was about 80 degrees today but Im sure those high summits are still pretty slick.

Heading out for 4 days in April

I went out in 2010 in the south after the huge storm in the south. There was about 14 inches of crunchy, frozen snow. I did not have any traction and made it fine. Granted there also wasn't the cold wind and temps either. Some of the stories the thru's I met had about what was going on in The...

    Winter's Back!

Thing I am learning, while there is snow on Washington and The Presi's there may not be much snow on the others and with totals down this year. I think the future forecasted warm up will make for some beautiful hiking. Im thinking of adding snowshoes to my load next week.:D Hopefully this system...
