    The Info on Mt. Cabot

Peakbagger thank you for your wise comments.Iagree thanks for the legwork on getting the info. The whole of issue of legal wrangling is as old as n.h. herself.I manage a very small private wetlands area in southern nh in which the town has a legal right to get into to fix issues with pond...

On helping unprepared hikers, group hikes, and hike leadership

Now you just need to whittle the number down to 10,16 is still a mob rampage imho and not within the "rules".The members of your hike might have a better time with a smaller group. Also you should watch who you get with that whip of yours. You could be opening yourself up to litigation :D...

FYI: Northern Pass High Voltage Transmission Project

Having grown up with the seabrook plant here in nh,I was exposed to both sides of the debate.Correct me if wrong but was there not some issue of contaminated runoff water being flushed into the coastal waters when the plant first opened?Nuclear power seems to be dirty also imho along with the...

Speed attempt to summit all the 8,000m peaks in one year

Nothing like a quick jaunt up k2.....Or Annapurna for that matter. My money is on some young sherpa with plenty of fire and young legs.Wonder if this "event" will push climbers to be creative in some of their routes to summit quickly and get down and on to the next 8,ooo peak.

Sugarloaf, Spaulding, Abraham loop, with Caribou Valley Road

Ditto peakbagger's point about two hikes. However rapid stream might be very tough to cross after friday and saturdays projected rains. So maybe do sugarloaf and spaulding first.Going up the ski trails and over to spaulding might be the easiest way to do these two peaks. The bushwack from caribou...

New grist for the SAR debate from Brown University study

Maddy, imho it may not be a question of "balking at paying a fee" for some, but more of a question of not having the funds to pay!I feel "entitled"to nothing from nobody in general. In particular if I get lost I expect nada.I would hope someone who knows me would help start trying to locate me...
