    small zoom recomendations?

My son has a Sigma 17-70 f/2.8 to I think f/3.5. He is very happy with it on his 40D. He uses it for landscapes, commercial architecture, concerts and and some portraits at the longer end.

    North Kinsman

Hi Jen and Darlene and the rest of you out there! The first day of winter was a great time even if the conditions were a bit tough! Views from the couch sound like a good time as well! Some pictures here.

    North Kinsman

For the first day of winter Alan and I wanted to get out and do some hiking. We've both had a couple of pretty busy months and had not been able to get out much. I had checked the weather report and although snow was forcast that wasn't going to stop us. I did note the forcast for 40 to 50...

    Ski Recomendations

With good snow conditions I like to ski up and down the road on Wachusett Mountain. The road to start at is near the trailhead of the Westside Trail. I think it is called the North Road. Have fun!

    Shoestring Gully up Webster

Way to Go!! Wow! Sounds like you all had a great climb. I wish I could have joined you instead of cleaning out my basement and going to the dump! Now that I have checked the basement off of my honey-do list, I'm getting my ice tools ready. I did manage to get a climb in of Right Gully in...

    Great Gulf backpack, return...............10/17

I was at the hockey rink tonight and was talking to my friend Joe and he told me he met two girls in at the Bluff that know me. It is certainly a small world. I hiked with Joe as he finished his White Mountain 4K footers on Hale a few years ago and I have down some ice climbing with him as...

    Hitchcock Flume

It's a neat NEI 2 ice climb in the winter. I climbed it a couple of years ago.

    Canon 5D MkII Announced

I'll be happy with my XSi for a while. It is nice and light so it is good for carrying on hikes. Although the 5DMII would be nice for my other photo outings! oh 5D or more L lenses.... Decisions, Decisions!

    Mountain as silhouette

I like the picture, especially of the clouds. My only other comment would be that it appears that the saturation of "blue" was pushed a bit high.

    Campfire at sunset

I like the first campfire picture because my eye is drawn to the right with the setting sun and then to the "star" in the darker sky. The campfire provides a nice foreground. I don't think the picture needs to be cropped. The second campfire picture is overpowered by the sparks.

In need of therapy? Try Isolation

Nice report Bobby. Hiking solo has a way of clearing my head as well, although I also like hiking with all the great people I've met from VFTT. Last week I did a solo loop through the Great Gulf from Pinkham. I got lazy and didn't post a report though. I did have lots of time to reflect on...
