    Skier Rescued on Washington (Ammo)

Geez, I wish him well. Probably a long recovery ahead for him. I read some of the comments in the UL. It seems that passing judgement is a way of life for those posters. It could have been any of us up there, (well, not me, I'm presently re-learning to walk after a knee replacement). I'm glad he...

Descending the Dudley Trail - Katahdin

Marty: By the time I got down the Dudley Trail, the seat of my hiking shorts was worn away from all the butt scooting. Not exactly a 'walk in the woods'. It was memorable though!

    On climbing..

SOOOO Jealous! I was going to suggest we do some stuff next year, but I think you are out of my league!!! I had to stop climbing (and everything else) in mid January thanks to an annoying knee. You are a major inspiration!!!! Did you ever do CWP? Sandy

Latest and greatest or "old friends"

I update frequently if I get a deal. Problem is, I don't get rid of anything, so I have stuff from 2010, and stuff from the 80's. Pretty sad.

Zealand and the Bonds SSW48 3/16

Congratulations! I hope to be tearing up the trails next year the way you did this year. As I sit here with my new knee on ice, it seems so far away. Thanks for your advice and encouragement through all this. Sandy

    hurting knees

I have been following this thread and my only thought is you are all lucky. I have had pain in my knee for decades, have done the stretching, strenghtening and PT stuff. I have hiked despite the pain, with most of my pain on the downhill, but recently it was on uphills, slowing my pace to a...

    Rib injury damnit!

Sorry about your unfortunate injury. 6 weeks sounds about right, though I do remember ice climbing about 3 weeks after. Not too bright. Just avoid doing things that piss it off. You may find stuff that you can do. (I don't recommend ice climbing):p Sandy

Yeah, you are really lucky. I don't have that. I tend to top-rope with women who are at the same level as me. None of us are comfortable leading more than WI 2 yet. I'll follow a 3-4+ though. Yeah, you are a BAD ASS.

    Yosemite and such in July

Jealous! I second Dana Peak. Tuolomne Meadows is one of my favorite places. Tons of non-strenuous hikes to georgous views. If you have never been to Yosemite, I strongly suggest a trip to the Valley and see the sights. You will not be dissapointed, yes it is crowded, and you will see why when...
