    The Moose: 6-21-08

On Saturday, Maggie and I were able to get out of Southern Connecticut and head north to what is one of my favorite hikes: Mt. Moosilauke. We started up the Gorge Brook Trail from Moosilauke Hike in slight overcast which slowly increased as the day went on. The temperatures were comfortable...

mooning the cog train on Washington

Just put a sign up saying that you have entered the hikers mooning zone. Hikers agree to only moon in that section of the cog. Those offended can lower a shade through that section of the cog. Those who think they are at the zoo can take pictures. All settled. :)

How would you do these 2 peaks?

MadRiver is right on, and West Bond at sunset is incredible. You'll really appreciate it after you do it. There is something magical about being in the middle of the Pemi, on top of a mountain that extends further into the middle, and able to see everything around you. Good luck and enjoy!

    Presi Traverse w/a hut stay...

If I had anything to volunteer, it would be to think like a fifteen year old boy (very scary, I don't recommend staying in that mindset long! :p ). They eat a lot. If they get grumpy or out of character, they are probably hungry. Even if you have eaten a few hours prior, don't underestimate...

    Sleepy Giant - CT

I did a quick search and didn't see any information on this hike. I am looking to hike the Sleepy Giant in Southern CT this weekend and was wondering if anyone had any advice, comments, or other for this hike. I picked up a book on the fifty hikes of CT from EMS which was helpful for some...
