    Day hike ideas in Colorado

I've heard things like... "a bit harder than Huntington's, but the exposure lasts for much longer" "do NOT be on the upper section when it's wet or icy because it becomes a dangerous slide" "somebody falls off and dies every 5-10 years or so, but think about how many thousands of people safely...

    Day hike ideas in Colorado

Conundrum Hot Springs is near Aspen. Fantastic hot springs - but typically done as a 1-2 night backpack. Certainly day-hikeable though (but very long, something like 18-miles round-trip) Flattop and Longs Peak are the two classic summit day hikes in Rocky Mountain National Park. Start very...

Which Trails Get Broken Out The Fastest In The Whites

North Kearsarge in North Conway gets broke out fast. Pierce as well. Tip: Bring a headlamp and sleep in on a Saturday if it snowed earlier that week. Arrive at the trailhead at 9 or 10am and let the others break trail ahead of you =)

    NH 4000-Footer Superlatives

I think I agree with you. I'll change Lincoln to a "9" for difficulty. I also like the view from Signal Ridge better than from the summit of Carrigain. My pic above was taken on Signal Ridge as a matter of fact.

    NH 4000-Footer Superlatives

Have you been on an exceptionally clear day? You can see forever. I visited on a very cold (-10) but bluebird day in winter and to this day it's still the most beautiful day I've had in the Whites. I also love the approach trail, even though it doesn't have any outstanding characteristics...

    NH 4000-Footer Superlatives

On a personal level, I would 100% agree with you. However, the fact of the matter is that people with little or no hiking experience are likely to stumble across my page at some point, so they need to realize that NONE of the 4000-footers are "easy" (even if we all agree on here that some are in...

    World's Most Beautiful Mountains

Ya know, I actually did think about adding Katahdin to the list when I was making it. I just wasn't sure if the rest of the world would agree. However, if it isn't on the list, it would certainly be a close runner up. Certainly a top 10 day hike in the US for sure.

Conditions are junk everywhere today, so I decided to put together an opinionated list of the world's most beautiful mountains. I don't have any pictures of any of these, but I highly encourage you to do your own Google-image search if you've never heard of any of these mountains. Each has...
