    Long weekend in the Catskills

    Much better! I was hoping to go to Lake Placid this weekend to check out a pack canoe but plans have changed. Maybe I'll get to go early June and stop at a few breweries on the way. Have a nice weekend.

    Hudson Valley Hike and Brew Night!

    Didn't read it yet, just came back for 3 day paddle trip in NJ Pine Barrens, AND we walked over 1 mile "carrying" my friends canoe. Followed up on a stop at Artisans Brewery and Italian Food :D So Chris and I got our first NJ v@b! Will write it up later.

    Cranberry Lake, NY: 2011 paddling Season

    We canceled our Saranac trip this week because of the ice. Can't drive 300 miles one way :( I really looked at the ADK paddlers map and now I want to go to so many places. Cranberry Lake is one of them. Be well.

    Trip up North was cxled do to ice on the Saranacs :mad: so we go south into the NJ pine barrens.

    Update! Saranacs are still iced in at this time. It looks like a Long Lake to Raquette River to Axton Landing possibly into Tupper Lake, or from Axton Landing (spot a car if road is driveable) toward Indian Carry? didn't realize how the winter can affect paddling plans :confused:

    Alistair, sent u a pm Thx for info Stan but it's expensive. Gonna use the fanny pack from an old pack and put a drysack inside it.

    Thx...we wear full drysuits, foot boots up to neck. My eyes almost pop out of my head when I'm wearing it. They look like that Marty Feldman from Young Frankenstein...

    2011 VFTT Stickers and Patches

    Whoo Hoo! thx teejay! Got mine today, my daughter said "Dad, your not going to put another sticker on your car, are you?" I just looked and smiled. My old sticker is probably on the car 6 years already, time for a nice new clean one!

    Fryin' pan.

    Stan, I like that idea, but would it still be frozen the next morning and you can't pour it? I was going to break the eggs at home, pour them into a small plastic water bottle, refrigerate it before trip, and use it the next morning. I'm going to check out the egg beaters.
