When you're hiking at or even driving to/from Acadia, you inevitably look out at some beautiful, smallish mountains that are north and east of the island. Anyone know what that area is, and what's the best way to hike it if it is indeed hikeable?
Wonderful, gorgeous pics. Sharing your grief, pain and love as I look and read. How much our animal friends give to us! We are so, so lucky. As much as the loss hurts, we really are...
Anyone know of one? Hiked for 10 spectacular hours yesterday, starting pre-sunrise, and saw only three people (and one dog) on the trails! Just curious and trying to figure out how far I walked. :)
...Not to mention, totally floored that I haven't been able to find such a map yet online...
Thanks to everyone who chimed in. Great to hear everyone's tidbits and info. Got a few great emails form non-forum-members too!
I am not familiar with the Mt Tecumsah service road. Now looking forward to checking it out as soon as possible. That sounds like a perfect place for some...
Anyone else doing the race this year? Would be cool to hear about peoples' training, including/especially back-of-the-packers. Feel free to chime in if you've done it in the past, too - I know there are several of you are among us.
Awesome! She sounds like a wonderful partner...
Sorry to hear of the anaplasmosis. My horse and two of the neighbor's dogs have had this over the past few years and each was miserable until it was figured out and treated. Glad she fully recovered!
Tom, you itinerary was insane!!!!! I am officially scared of you. And I think I might want to be you when I grow up. :) Kudos.
Adventurous, I love the pic. That is crazy that there were three groups there in winter...
