I'm heading out for a week-long backpack on the LT and want to stash a supply of food somewhere prior to leaving. Is it worth buying or renting a Bear vault? Is the old standard of simply hanging the cache in bear country sufficient? I'm curious to know what successful strategies people have...

Trails are drying up nicely. A few wet areas to navigate on Jack Frost, Old Indian, Semuhenna and Bicentennial Trails. Snowbaording and ski trails still have cruddy snow and crossing these trails is a bit mucky. No special equipment needed except Nice views of Wapack Range, Monadnock, Okemo...

Agreed...as wet and muddy as everything has been in central Mass, Raptors perform nicely under those conditions
