    Considering trying poles next time...

    I mostly just carry poles on my pack...just keep 'em strapped there to make myself look like i know what i'm doing. Reality is though that i think i may have used them once on an overnight when my pack load was a little heavier than dayhiking, and maybe one other time when my knee was aching on...

    I hiked the ammo trail with my sister and parents in august of 1980. We all wore cut-off jeans and tees and each had a cotton sweatshirt for warmth. A couple of apples and oranges and some water...talk about unprepared!

    BA makes an insulated air core with an r-value of 15 degrees. I agree with griffen. I've got one and it 's comfy. Packs small, usually stuff it in water bottle pocket, and fairly lite. Having to blow it up is an insignificant downfall (to me) due to its' packability, liteness and comfort
