    Katahdin area and kids

I can't answer your kid related questions... but there is a terrific campground right outside of Baxter State Park called Hidden Springs Campground. It's one of my favorites for car camping and is located about 10 to 15 minutes down the road from the southern entrance of Baxter State Park. You...

    Solo tents

I am definitely among the "love my tarptent" crew. I was surprised to hear your comments about condensation... I've never had a problem at all. (I actually started with a Eureka solitaire as my solo tent.... that one actually rained on me because there was so much condensation!!) - Ivy

    Monadnock via Dublin trail?

Has anyone hiked Monadnock via the Dublin trail recently? I'm curious to know if Old Troy Road is passable to the trailhead (the southern NH guidebook indicates it can be impassable in the spring.) I have a Honda civic that I'm hoping to drive down there, so I don't have particularly high...

    Peakbagging around Passaconaway 5/5/07

Thanks trailbiscuit. I was also thinking bloodroot... but it was a lot smaller than the bloodroot plants I've seen in the past. But with two of us thinking that... I'm just going to call it bloodroot anyway. :) - Ivy

    Fun with Poison Ivy

You might be thinking of shingles -- caused by the same virus but in adults. However, people who get shingles had chicken pox previously. Shingles is extremely painful... or so my mom says, who was unfortunate enough to have it in her eye (as well as elsewhere.) - Ivy

Thanks rocksnrolls for organizing this hike... it was lots of fun. Can't wait for the snow to finally melt though! :) I'm looking forward to heading back for Square Ledge in the fall -- after the falcon closure season -- to see if we were on the right track or not. My pictures are here. - Ivy

Two State High Points and an M&M on the AT

Very nice... Mt. Rogers was one of my favorite state highpoints (so far and probably due to the ponies) while Kentucky was definitely one of my least favorites! :) Glad to hear M&M is still faring well and enjoying her hike. - Ivy

Suggestions Requested: hike in So. Vt or N.H. tomorrow

If you're looking for something with a view that isn't a 4K in NH... how about a hike on the 52 With a View list. Lots of good hikes to choose from there! - Ivy

Congratulations David! I hope none was as "interesting" as our Cabot hike so long ago. Here is the correct link for the pictures, unless there is another coldfeet on webshots. :) - Ivy
