Hmmmm! Now that would be a fun challenge!! I went up Carter Dome yesterday and looked at the untouched Black Angel trail..........thought to myself............now, that would be fun! Then thought about the roadwalk to where the car would be and decided..............maybe not so much fun!!

If the weather is nice and I have the day off......partner or no partner, I'm going!! It's nice to have company but if no one is available......I'm not going to miss out on a great day in the Mtns! I have one 4K left on my "solo list" anyone want to join me?! Ha ha, kidding, just kidding!!

I hiked Speck Pond trail on 8/8/13 and drove really sloooooooooooow, it took me 35 minutes to drive the 12+ miles the trailhead (driving a smaller Subaru with lower clearance) I was being passed by everyone on the way out and didn't really care............so, that's your MAX time to get there...

I drove up Success Pond Rd today from Berlin (to Notch trail @ 11mile mark) Slow going, but road in good shape. 35 minutes to go 11 miles. I have a small car with AWD. Nothing it couldn't handle. Just have to keep eyes open for big rocks sticking up now and then.
