Planned a fun Memorial Day Weekend trip with MooseMaiden and Waterhorse. We thought we'd start on Saturday, hike up to Kinsman Pond, camp, summit North and South Kinsman on Sunday, camp again, and then come down the same way on Monday... Saturday evening's weather forecast resulted in a last...

In reading the WhiteBlaze thread, it appears that it was quite a distance from the nearest road... suggesting that someone intentionally targeted him, knowing where he was. I think this its disgusting that someone(s) would do that to another human being.

Trail is mostly dry with some spots of mud up until the last stream crossing, then the patchy icy monorail starts. Monorail and snow are avoidable if necessary. I would imagine all traces of winter will be gone after another week or so. Stream crossings are all open and rock-hoppable. Light...

Rain cancelled the plans with our newbie hiker friends, so the girls and I hiked Tecumseh instead :) Maybe next weekend we'll try out some of these great suggestions!

Hey All - I've got some friends who are new to hiking and not in tremendously good shape who I'm taking hiking with the girls and I on Sunday. I'm looking for an easy hike leading to pretty views that is in the Upper Valley area of NH/VT. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated :) Thanks!

Slopes are not yet snow free, but they're getting there. You could very much avoid the snow though, as long as you don't mind looking at it, by staying to the sides of the slopes. If you're up for some extra fun though, bring a sled :)
