3 Questions - 3 Books on the Shelf

Recently Read and Hard to put down would have to be A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson Cool for some reason would have to be the Scudder's Guide If I could only keep one it'd be the AMC White Mountain Guide, but really, you'd have to fight me hard for the rest of them :)

favorite/most convenient town in the Whites ?

I vote for "other" - Rumney has it all - small town, super rock climbing (if a bit crowded), nice river running right through it, little mountains with great views, convenient to the bigger mountains, couple of little hole-in-the-wall places to get decent eats... and its far enough off 93 that...

    Winter Trail Snacks

We make Muddy Buddies - chex cereal covered in a mixture of chocolate, sunbutter and confectioner's sugar - add oatmeal and raisins and you've got a heck of a winter snack. It doesn't work real well in the summer as it gets all melty and gross. The Muddy Buddies are safe for those of us...

Hikers rescued on Mt Lafayette Sunday

I haven't heard anything about a call-out from my S&R buddies... Pemi would have been the organization of choice up that way... I would guess that S&R did not get called out because the guys were unhurt and safe and F&G knew where they were, so no need for a "search" and no need for a carry-out...

Hiking with babies and young children ?

Another vote for the Mayawrap. I loved mine - used it for both my girls. It was always reliable, no straps or buckles to break or malfunction, plus, you can get baby right up against your skin if you want/need to. When the girls got older I used a hand me down Kelty carrier and liked that...
