Go Sage for knowing when to say when - and to you for following your gut - and to Alex for being a great sister!

Missing elderly woman suffering early Alzheimer's

Best to focus on the positive - her family and community have the closure that they need now. Hindsight is always 20/20 - surely there was good reason she wasn't found earlier. Rest assured, the searchers did all that was humanly possible to find her. Many thanks for those who are out there...

    Tripyramid slide loop...trailhead "accomidations"

IMHO you should go for the slides. The views and the challenge are well worth the trip. And take MadRiver up on his camping offer - he really is quite close to the trailhead :)

Love it! Young kids in the mountains - Mommas sharing their passion... I'm a bit biased too, but I'm gonna say it anyway, Trish Rocks!

    socks , socks , socks

I have Darn Toughs and Smartwools.... Both are great socks - Smartwool is definately easier to find - though I'm only a hop skip and a jump from VT and DTs are fairly easy to find over there (not hard to believe given that they are a local product)

What's on your feet? (Three-season hiking footwear)

These are exactly what I wear and I love them! FarmWay up in Bradford VT carries them - so you can try them on before you buy them.

Berlin Fish Hatchery gate--open until 10 pm

FYI - I was thinking about a Cabot hike this weekend, so just called the Hatchery to get the latest on the gate... The nice gentleman that answered said that the gate is open from about 0700 until about 1600 but that if hikers request it either on the day of or ahead of time, they'll leave the...
