If the hut gets built can we count on increasing the number of lost people in the Thoreau Falls Trail and Shoal Pond Trail areas ? :-) Realistically, it would probably mean that they would start blazing those trails again or at least clear blow downs... :-)

It's not too narrow to bike and the few steeps the bike could be easily pushed for the duration. Actually, depending on the snow level you might have an unpleasant surprise to push the bike more than you'd like ;-) I suppose if you had someone to drop you off at the Togue gate that would work...

Yes from Abol Bridge. I have a front handlebar attachment that can take all my camping items (sleeping bat etc... ) I have a tiny frame bag for items and rear seat bag that fits some more stuff and I would wear medium sized backpack. on the inside of my handlebars are two insulated buckets...

Well, I was with him on New Years Eve from 302 to Zealand and back. You can ski all the way to the hut, the ski trail was NOT broken in however and there is a short section near the bridges where it is too bony to ski.

I guess if you like solo winter bushwacks then carry a spruce trap saw. Otherwise, I'd consider it excess weight.

I have been thinking about going the opposite way sometime this year. Ski from LW, and maybe some parts around Guyot and then ski out from Zealand Hut. Personally for this trip I would like to start early to hit the sunrise at Bondcliff.
