Lost Hearing Aid on Bondcliff Tr

I know this is a needle in a haystack situation!! BUT, I lost a hearing aid somewhere on the Bondcliff Tr on Tuesday 8/28. I had gone from Galehead Hut to Bondcliff and back and somewhere around the W. Bond spur on the way back, I noticed it was missing. Most likely fell out anywhere between...

    Bonds via Galehead Hut 8/27,28

More re Bonds 8/27,28- Ride? Just wanted to inject this question into the thread, understanding that it is asking alot. If there is no interest in the hike, might there be someone in the Lincoln or Twin Mtn area that would be able to and willing to pick me up at Lincoln Woods parking lot...

    Bonds via Galehead Hut 8/27,28

This is fairly short notice, but the forecast for next Monday/Tuesday is perfect. Started this trip last year but had to abort due to heavy rain on day 2. As of now, there is still space available at Galehead Hut and the forecast for both days is excellent, with no rain predicted before Wed PM...

    South and Middle Carter

The day started out with very overcast skies. As I drove through Franconia Notch I wondered if the great forecast would actually come to pass. Fortunately, the weather forecast was spot on. It turned out to be a glorious day- partly cloudy and quite breezy on top, but not cold enough to ever put...

    Ticks are out.

Similar experience Had the same experience in that area Shaw, Roberts, Faraway last year. Me, my pack and car were infested. Found them everywhere for a couple of days. Haven't been there this year, and I haven't run in to any in the Waterville Valley area (live there) so far this year.

    Photo storage

Thanks ! Thanks guys for all your suggestions! Looks like the very first thing to do is to acquire an external drive and then investigate the software to create DVD's. I have a Webshots account so will probably upload to there as well, just to have them in another place. Harry

    Photo storage

Not sure if this is the right forum to ask this, but- I'll be heading to the Swiss Alps in a couple of weeks for a couple of weeks, and expect to return with hundreds of pics stored on the Sony memory stick pro. 1- What is the best way to store hard copies of the files? 2- Is there a good and...

    Tincture of Benzoin?

How exactly would you use it for this purpose? I haven't used any for a long time, but IIRC it left a sticky mess. I'm having a real problem with heels and "pinky" toes with my new Limmers (even after putting 100 miles on them this spring) and any help would be appreciated. Harry

    Break-in time for boots?

For Example with my Limmers Following their instructions I wore my new Limmers around the house for 2 weeks. Then walked in them starting slow and working up to 5 mile walks around town (Waterville Valley). Once I had 40 miles on them, and feeling really great!, I hiked Welch-Dickey. Blistered...

    Mt. Washington

Auto Road good.... I think Ammo could be intimidating to someone who hasn't hiked much, especially if age is a factor, despite being in good condition. Jewell is an option but is longer, is gentle below tree line but has a fairly long rough section above tree line. The Auto Road idea sounds...

squirrels? Looks like the bottom of my old garage door. We eventually decided it was the flying squirrels that we observed making a fast escape when the door went up.
