Speed hiker attacked during record attempt on the Appalachian trail

FYI on CT for bleeds, absolutely, CT is the modality of choice for acute head trauma's - think MVA's, sports injuries etc. While his neuro signs must have been relatively intact to hike out to help, which you can due with a concussion - not a fun task I'm sure, a CT can still be ordered to CYA...

    Sleeper - which approach?

i attempted the brooks last year about this time...not my cup of tea! However, did spend time bushwacking some and noticed you can follow the logging road in from the Kanc just west of the parking lot. Follow that up and around the hill for a bit, then at a 90degree to the right, you can almost...

    Sleeper - which approach?

OK venturing out with the bugs this weekend, looking for an informal poll, Sleeper from the So Tri slide? or from the Whiteface side? Not going to venture the many brook crossings from the Kanc. Mind you I have already gone to all the peaks around there, so this is solely a repeat of some...

Which peak should we finish on -- Flume or Moosilauke

I'm going to buck the crowd and say Flume. Moose can have a crowd on it and i might be prejudiced as my son finished his 48 last year with the Flume/Liberty loop finishing on Liberty. I loved returning to the flume slide trail and while the peak is a small area you have the cliffs and the...

Thanks NewHampshire...some posts recommend avoiding the slide all to gether and staying on the steep herd path to the right, so i'm not sure which turn you are referring to. Also, how are the bugs in the mountains right now? Appreciate your help, thanks, ctsparrow
