Since it has been dry and the days are nice and long for light, I decided we decided to do the Santanoni's 6/25/16 considering last time it was about a 12 hour day. Last time I did these, we went up tagged Couch, went over to Santanoni and the back to Panther and down the same way we came up...

We are thinking of going up and doing Allen Mountain this weekend. It's been many years since the last time and I don't remember much. haha. What are the places to stay around the area and also any info updating me on Allen Mountain would be appreciated.

Both times ended on Abraham in Maine. Wasn't planned that way...just the way it worked out.

Trying to decide what to hike this weekend. We have only done 7 of the winter 48 and trying to do some more. It's harder in winter with school interfering. Anyway....I have done Moosilauke in the winter before but can't remember the trail. What is the best way up in the winter...and where...

There are no ladders to Redington either. My friend had her dog with her and he did fine. (are you going from South Crockers?...that is how we did it....We came down another way but it was very long. We think we would have rather climbed back over South Crocker) Be careful on that road. 2...

There used to be a road near LOJ that you could camp. Is that still there and is it still free? Also, I noticed or it seems that you don't have to hike a couple of the mountains in the catskills to do your ADK...has that changed?

Is there any problems or concerns I should be worried about when going to hike Boundry? We will be going into Canada and hike from there. I have read reports about border patrol. I don't want to get into trouble.

Has anyone done these with a car spot? Does it matter which way you go? Last time I did them 2 seperate trips but thinking if I can spot a car this might be the way to go.
