Does your S.O. read or post here?

I don't have a current S.O. but I do have a couple of ex-S.O.'s that do read/post here. :p It's a nice way to stay connected. ;) Interesting too is the fact that one of my exes loved my posts and the other didn't care for any of them, apparently. Never got one green square from him at...

Injured hiker carried 8 miles to safety

My point exactly and what I tried to convey in my post above...while I agree that most people would act humanely and assist someone in distress, to Bob's credit, despite the 'nice' guy I personally know that he is, he exceeded typical expectations and thus, I nominate him for induction in the...

Boston Potluck at Pat and Audrey's November 3

Pat and Audrey, Thanks so much for the invite to the Potluck! What a nice time among old and new friends...I was so enjoying myself and considered staying over but thought it more reasonable to allow for the long-distance travellers to have the space!! (When I got home at 2:30am, my son home...

Injured hiker carried 8 miles to safety

Ok, ok, all kidding aside...(muffins, coffee, dew)...Bob performed an admirable gesture and despite the funny remarks the fact remains that he did something very noble, very kind, very uncommon. I guess we could poke fun at him continually but let's consider for a moment how many people we have...

Injured hiker carried 8 miles to safety

Actually, I am now reminded of one time that I was concerned about the whereabouts of a hiker buddy and I contacted Bob and he immediately went out looking for him at various trailheads and reported back to me when he found no trace of him. I had not asked him to do this yet he felt compelled...

    No. & So. Kinsmans: Mon,10-22-07

Thanks all for the birthday wishes! It was one of the nicest hikes of recent memory! Kevin: RLC had mentioned the "Flume" area to me as he'd read about it in his guidebook but somehow we missed it on the ascent and again on the descent. We never saw the purported sign??

    No. & So. Kinsmans: Mon,10-22-07

Trails: Mt. Kinsman, Kinsman Ridge, Bald Knob spur Distance & elevation: 10.8 miles, approx. 4,000 feet Hikers: RLC and HikerAmiga Yesterday RLC and I joined forces on this unseasonably (summer-like) fall day to hike the Kinsmans. The start of this hike on the Mt Kinsmans Trail for me was...

Non hikes and sightseeing in Whites

All of the above are great suggestions...I just did the touristy thing this weekend with my elderly dad (77 years old) and younger sister. I first took them to the Flume Gorge, exit 34a off 93 and this is a 2-mile nice stroll on trails and through the Flume Gorge. I was disappointed in that...
