When were in Maine 2 years ago in september it wasn't too bad. Needed long sleeves and long pants above treeline on katahdin but it was windy and foggy. Paddled in tee shirts and shorts on Moosehead lake. I plan on taking some fleece though. With my Raynauds, I always have gloves and a hat

    Airline Trail Question

TCD A long time ago I took a map and compass course offered by the ADK which was held at the Loj. Part of the class was to use your skills and find letters in the woods so the P you found was probably placed there for such exercises.

Car break ins on Zealand Road

I'm not sure if it was this website, but I seem to remember people posting about leaving soiled underwear draped over seats, steering wheel etc in their car to prevent breakins. You can buy "pre-soiled" panties too: http://www.baronbob.com/securitybriefs-prankunderwear.htm

    Isle Royale

Its been years since I backpacked there but it was a wonderful trip. I spent about 5 days doing a loop hike so did not hit the entire greenwood ridge. For the most part, you did not see anyone on the trail during the day. The campsites tended to be full at night though. I was also there in...
