What a roller coaster ride this week has been! I was told on Tuesday I had re-broken my back at L4 and L5 and would have to return in 2 weeks to see if I was better or needed surgery. He gave me a super tight back brace to wear. I was at the point of being in so much pain I could not sit...

I am not sure what I did to my back but I am in the worst pain of my life. I am seeing another doctor this week. :(

Due to a back injury I am not going to be able to try the traverse the weekend of Feb 27. I will be attempting this either March 7 or March 13! I hope I heal up before then! :)

Don and I set out to try the trapdike in the adirondaks this weekend. The weather forecast looked good and we were ready to go. We drove up late Friday night and camped. We were on the trail Saturday morning at 6:30am. It was chilly but the skies were clear and the trail was in great shape...

Going up the trapdike we exited off to the right through some trees and onto a slab. We saw other tracks going to the left but those were not ours. :)

there was one set of tracks that went way up beyond where we went in. we turned right just past a large rock in the middle of the dike that had some small trees growing from it. there was a steep wall with dripping ice directly across from where we cut in. i dont know if that was the right spot...

We did the trapdike! The hardest part was getting from the dike to the slabs. Crazy terrain and spruce traps crossing over, but super fun! TR and pics will be posted later! Lots of ice in the dike made for lots of fun! Didn't see anyone else out on the dike, we started up it at 9am.

We are headed up to attempt the Trapdike in the Adirondaks this Saturday. We are unsure of which trailhead we are starting from but we plan to do it in a day. Does anyone know of how the conditions are?

To clear up any confusion, this will be a one day attempt of the traverse, including all summits-Madison to Jackson and Webster.. Early start, late finish, light packs, lots of fun. Feb 27 will be the first planned attempt, weather permitting and March 13 will be the second attempt. A good...

Never been on the 6 Husband trail before. Apparently this is how we roll! We seem to do most things first in the winter and then go back in the summer to see what it was all about. We love following along on the forum because you all give us so many ideas for future trips! :)

It was such an amazing day! This one is going to keep me smiling for a while! :D
