The Six Husbands Trail is now broken! Great sunset pics from Washington summit

Don and I decided to try the Six Husbands Trail below Mount Jefferson. We were looking for something challenging and new for us. We were unable to gather a lot of information about the climb but we did read some summer trip reports and got some good info off of some hiking forums. We spent a...

    Six Husbands Trail

I am certainly not opposed to making it a 2 night deal either. I just figured with 25lb small packs we could probably move quick. I would definitely bring a bivy sack and my puffy down jacket and pants, stove, fuel and rations to survive in an emergency situation even for a one day attempt...

    Presidential Traverse

We are looking to do the Presi Traverse in late February/early March. We want to do the summits including Madison, Jackson, and Webster. Is anyone up for doing this with us? We are toying with possibly doing it in a super long day if weather and conditions are perfect or breaking it up and...

Kinsman Notch, Moosilauke and South Peak

No Doc Benton stories this time! As for the summer months, I just don't enjoy them like I enjoy the winter! Ultramarathons are a great way to pass the time and it makes for funny stories of stupid things you have done in your life when you are old.

Kinsman Notch, Moosilauke and South Peak

So Don and I headed up to Kinsman notch on Saturday to do some climbing. We attempted one climb called the Luck of the Irish and ended up bagging it due to conditions. It was kind of hollow and we aren't super climbers yet so we found another climb just past it. It was a bit sketchy due to...

    Mount Marcy

No, I am just not feeling the ice leading this year. I need to suck it up and just do it! Don is doing a wonderful job with the leads and I have been enjoying being a second! Yes, no noseguard on this trip! As dorky as that thing is, I love wearing it! It is super comfy and I don't get...

    Mount Marcy

Our original plan was to go over the other side but we changed our minds. We took a couple of quick pics to show we made it but it was cold! Spending so much time in the Whites we totally underestimated the Adirondaks. They are real mountains too! For layers I had on a Techwick longsleeve, a...

    Mount Marcy

Don and I ended up in the Adirondaks for New Years. We drove up Friday and then had breakfast at Noonmark Diner before heading into the Canyon to climb. We ended up climbing Quinn the Eskimo which was a bit too low angle. We then did Midnight Cruiser and had a blast! We headed out and made our...
