    Another monolith removed

Right on! Seems if everyone started leaving whatever they want to anywhere they felt like it, nature that we all love would be a junkyard in no time at all. I have thrown away geo-caches before on the sides of trails that were terribly hidden. No reason to bring your litter into the Whites with you.

Upticks in Infections in Mass and RI

Respectfully some see "blind obedience " while others see a simple adherence to real and factual science. I go to northern Maine every few weeks and live in southern Nh. I have been up to Maine all during this pandemic and can safely say between both states I have witnessed every opinion on...

    More trail closings?

And while at the beach don't stop moving and under no conditions are you to bask in the sun while not moving......Maybe best to keep car parked at home right now and not in the whites anyways.

    Saddleback And Abraham In Maine

Nice job on the Barnjum way. Thats been on my buck list for years. I believe it was washed out for years?[6-8 years ago, not sure] Interesting story on Gerry Largay. Liked the first half, not sure about the second. Seems writer is a little paranoid maybe. The misleading[ not intentional, imho]...

LOST HIKER IN Spaulding mountain area maine.

Tim ,I asked for it to "publicly" be shut because I did not get a response when I sent you a private message several months ago about shutting it down dude. I assumed it would "run its course" but it did not. On a personal note please remember I was censored by YOU for being upset about a thread...

LOST HIKER IN Spaulding mountain area maine.

I would respectfully say two things 1] if anybody wants it open for education reasons, that makes sense. 2] I am slightly concerned with precedent for future threads in regards to the position of the O.P. to close a thread they feel has drifted. The bigger issue though is how people feel.I am...

LOST HIKER IN Spaulding mountain area maine.

Anyway to shut this thread down? I had sent a private message requesting this, not sure what happened? This thread has run its course and with the closure for the family it seems time to shut it down. As the O.P. I should have this right to request this. The thread was started to help find a...

New Hampshire 200 Highest and New Hampshire 300 Highest Lists

I have question in which this seems to be the perfect place to ask. What is the most common list people use for the nh100? I have for six years been working on one which has for example #4clay #5 boot spur #12 slide peak #21 guyot #23 north carter #61 thru 100 has some obscure ones like #68...

A bunch of rescues last weekend

That was the best way to handle that. They did not get the message and you told them they were being foolish if they went higher in a nice way. Franconia notch seems to always have the most terribly underprepared hikers. I always find people up there in late fall without gloves or hats shivering...

New Deer Tick Virus Emerges in New York

Thanks for posting Tom....I wish I could say I was surprised. Just some food for thought, when one comes in from the woods throw all your clothes in a trash bag and seal it,check your body for ticks and then shower right away. This seems to help me most of the time and you can shake your clothes...

    Guns on the trail

It used to be more normal for people to open carry in nh which is legal. These days you do not see it as much. My guess is the dude open carrying on Pierce was trying to display his rights and get a reaction unless he was hunting in the area. I am very open about gun rights compared to most of...
