Sounds like a great trip!! I was on the other side on Saturday hiking Old Speck and enjoyed Puzzle Mountain yesterday. I have to say I love that mountain - the trail is so varied, and the views are beautiful!

I had wondered if it was broken out and had thought about trying the Garfield trail today but decided on something smaller...I hadn't seen any recent trail conditions. Thanks for this report and for breaking trail for as far as you did!

Great traverse over Chocorua and Paugus! Especially enjoyed the views from Paugus and the trail coming down from there was awesome...except where I slid on the mossy rock and got a soaked backside.
