Marshall via Herbert Brook had been broken out nearly to the south bump where the trail dead ended. We went back down and continued to the swamp in order to follow the herd path to the summit. This took an hour and a half as there are four feet of unconsolidated snow. It is important to stay with Herbert Brook all the way to the swamp as there are a number of false paths. Snowshoes mandatory.
