Avalon trail to A-Z trail to Mt. Tom spur, Willey Range trail to Mt. Field, then Avalon trail to Mt. Avalon and out to Crawford Depot.
Nice snowpack with about 2-3 inches of loose powder on top on Avalon trail, A-Z trail up to Mt. Tom spur junction, and Willey Range trail to Mt. Field. Snow was just enough to make things a bit slippery and made it a little tougher to go up the steep sections. Possible to bareboot but traction makes it a lot easier. Two of us used snowshoes for most of the trip, one used crampons. The Mt. Tom spur had a little more loose snow and was clearly the least-used of the trails. Avalon trail above the A-Z/Avalon junction also had a lot of loose snow and snowsoes/glissading made for an easy decent. Nice day in the woods even though views were almost non-existent.
