After yesterday's deluge, we thought better of doing the planned Galehead/Twins shuttle. So, up Garfield. Trail was wet. The first 1/2 mile was soft, but not quite muddy. After that, most of the way was in a shallow stream. The 3 stream crossings were problems - we bypassed the first two by bushwhacking along the stream to the snowmobile trail. The third was easier. Unfortunately, the sunlight we saw in the valleys never made it to the higher reaches of the mountain and we were socked in at the top. Still, a nice walk in yucky conditions.

Some ice was visible on the upper steep section, but of no consequence.

Equipment needed: waterproof boots, poles very helpful.
