11-11-13 Tecumseh: Via Mount Tecumseh Tr.
With an uncertain forecast I opted for another quick hit and run this long weekend.
Trail Conditions: The trail is in very good shape with an inch of snow at lower elevations and 2" to 3" drifts above the final ascent before the actual ridge. Water crossings were easy and there was no ice on the rocks today. The muddy sections were mostly frozen, which caused some sticky balling on the microspikes.
Equipment: Poles were helpful with the intermittent slippery rocks and river crossings. I barebooted all the way to summit and opted to wear microspikes for the descent.
Comments: Although we are still in the month of November the summit was quite cold and rime has covered almost everything on the summit and ridge. I only saw two sets of tracks from solo trackers and ran into a party of 3. There were some views to be had below the summit but it was mostly in the clouds during the frigid few minutes I spent there.
