My brother had to call this morning to tell me what a 'hiking slug' I am because I did a backpack last summer in Maine and only hit 4 peaks in four days.
This story was in the Lewiston Sun Journal this morning about a niece and uncle who did all 14 4k in Maine in 4 days.

In my defence, I believe I could have done a few more peaks in 4 days if we hadn't started into the woods at 11pm the first night, and my hiking partner had slithered out of his sleeping bag before 1pm, 2pm, and 3pm respectively for the 3 mornings... Murmering something about bear bags and trying to get used to the 'thick air' conditions after a Denali trip...![Roll eyes  ](data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAAAAAP///yH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAIBRAA7)
Kudos to the uncle/niece duo and hope they have many more hiking adventures ahead!
