19MBT is a sidewalk, need light traction only
Carter Dome Trail to Zeta Pass -- packed and barebootable, but snowshoes help, especially higher up near Zeta Pass
Carter Dome Trail from Zeta Pass to Carter Dome summit -- snowshoes needed. Trail is broken but you WILL posthole if you try to avoid snowshoes. We tried to microspike it, quickly found that wasn't a wise idea.
There are some blowdowns on the Carter Dome Trail, nothing you can't walk around or stoop under rather easily.
